Dead is dead

Madeleine L'Engle has passed on. From the PW obituary:

Madeleine L’Engle Author Madeleine L’Engle died last night in Connecticut, at the age of 89. Best known for her 1963 Newbery Award winner A Wrinkle in Time and its sequels, L’Engle was the author of more than 60 books for adults and young readers, most of which were published by FSG. This spring, the Square Fish imprint of Holtzbrinck reissued L'Engle's Time Quintet in new editions.

I'm sure we'll be hearing a whole lot on her life and works soon. That should be interesting. If you've read her stuff you know how odd it is, both content and style. EDIT New York Times is on it now with some more information about her death and a nice write up of her literary reputation. You can read it here.
